About Me

I grew up in Sampson County, a rural part of North Carolina; it was and still is a farming community.
I spent a lot of my time outdoors working, fishing and hunting. This may be what led me to attend North Carolina State University and obtain a degree in Natural Resource Management.
Upon graduation, I began my career with the North Carolina State Parks system.
I worked for North Carolina State Parks for 35 years, spending 28 years of that time at Fort Macon State Park, located in Atlantic Beach, North Carolina. In 2009, I retired to Beaufort, North Carolina and have pursued my passion for photography since then.
Nature has a special way of making me relax, and I hope my photographs express that feeling.
I also hope that some of my photographs will convey the uniqueness that I find living in a coastal community where there is a struggle to maintain the cultural traditions while dealing with the pressures of continued population growth in the area.
